Who are We?
Flourish: Women’s Resource Network (WRN) was formed after a series of conversations and much prayer surrounding women, their identity and their roles; at home, in the church, in the community and in the world. These conversations happened within the four Burlington area churches and, out of this, a network was formed to share ideas and resources.
Flourish: Women’s Resource Network (WRN) is encouraged and endorsed by all four consistories and the core team consists of an elder or pastor from each church along with a woman representative.
Why a network for women?

Women, along with men, are created in God’s image to reflect and represent God in the
world, to rule and subdue, to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1,2). Together with men, our ultimate calling is to bring God glory in all areas of life.
We can learn what this means for us specifically, as uniquely created Christian women, in our homes and in the church: this learning occurs through preaching and teaching from the pulpit each week, through regular Bible study, and also by watching how older women model what being a Christ-following woman looks like in all areas of life (Titus 2:3-5).
Being discipled by older women within the church is one way that God has laid out for us to grow and flourish. These older women may be our biological mothers, sisters, aunts and grandmothers, but we also learn from other spiritual sisters, as we all belong to the same family of God and encourage each other to grow up in the faith (Ephesians 4).
When we flourish as individuals in our faith, we will live out of this in our homes,
families, churches and communities, wherever God places us.
This is the hope and prayer behind Flourish: that women will be encouraged to
flourish in the service of Christ, through gospel-driven relationships with each other.
With both organic and intentional mentoring, teaching and training, and equipped with the Holy Spirit through prayer, women will personally grow in their relationship with the
Lord and then also be able to walk alongside others as they continue to “bear fruit in
old age” and help others to do the same (Psalms 92:12-15).
